The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is the entry level qualification to the makeup and beauty industry. You will learn a range of skills to begin a career within the dynamic beauty retail environment.
Learn skills such as makeup, eyelash extensions, brow waxing and lash and brow tinting. You will also learn valuable subjects like social media engagement and visual merchandising.
This course has been designed for those wanting to develop the skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetic products to an industry standard.

Start any time with our flexible delivery options. The flexible mode of delivery maximises practical skill development in an operational beauty salon. Students will attend the campus for practical workshops, which will include demonstrations by industry experts, hands on practical experience and undertaking the assessable practical observations. Students participate in online learning activities for the knowledge learning with the support of a trainer and assessor.

Certificate II Retail Cosmetics includes core subjects that have been chosen to set students up for the practical skills required to work in the cosmetic counter environment. The subjects have been chosen to reflect industry standards and graduates are more employable with these valuable skills. The skills learnt during this course also ensure graduates have the opportunity to freelance in the beauty industry.
Makeup application, lash extensions, retail selling, social media marketing, present merchandising and retail stock, lash and brow tinting, advise and recommend beauty products and services, team communication, brow shaping, organisational requirements for cosmetic counters, industry insights, face shape analysis, brow waxing.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Minimum age requirement of 15 years of age.
The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is a gateway course into working in a vibrant exciting industry and will give you all the starting techniques and knowledge to proceed into the world of makeup artistry.
Successful completion of this course leads to exciting career possibilities in the makeup and cosmetic industry. Graduates from the Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics course are able to gain employment as;
The Certificate III in Beauty Services is for students aiming to enter the beauty services industry and is funded by the Queensland Governments under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program available for eligible applicants.
– Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
– Living in Queensland full time
– Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
– And don’t currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
Student eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee program will received funding of $2,384 as non-consessional student and you will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $2,116.
Students eligible for concessional funding will receive $2,980 and will pay a student co-contribution fee of only $1,520. You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
The student co-contribution fee can be paid directly to us using one of our weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment plan options. Our campus staff can talk you through the available options. Please refer to our course fee, withdrawal and refund policy in our policy section.
If you are a trainee, we can work with you and your employer to develop a training plan, delivering and assessing your skills and issue you with a statement of attainment and qualification. Eligable trainees have the opportunity to receive funding through the Queensland Government User Choice program.
