Certificate III in Beauty Services (SHB30115)

After completion of the Certificate III in Beauty Services, students are equipped with the basic beauty treatment skills necessary to work in a beauty salon or department store in a variety of beauty practices. The course includes pre clinical skills, client service skills and retail selling techniques. It will teach students how to provide lash and brow techniques and temporary epilation and bleaching treatments, but does not include facials, body treatments or massage techniques. Students successfully completing this course may go on to further their studies by completing the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

Career Opportunities

Successful graduates from the Certificate III in Beauty Services course can become self employed as junior beauty therapists specialising in waxing, tinting, manicure, pedicure and makeup, or as specialists in wedding and formal makeup.

Course Duration and Study Options

Full time: 6 months (2 days per week 9-5pm)
Part time: 12 months (1 day per week 9-5pm or 2 nights per week 6-9pm)

There are no general entry requirements for this qualification, and you may enrol in this course at any time and begin studying shortly after enrolment.

Course Units and Electives

This beauty qualification consists of fifteen (15) units of competency. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Packaging Rules of this qualification.

Note that all units can be purchased individually as special interest subjects. However, some units may require the completion of prerequisites.
