The Diploma of Beauty Therapy course has been designed as a high level qualification for those wishing to operate as a beauty therapist, employing staff and managing a beauty salon. The course allows students to learn the latest beauty industry techniques. It combines theory and practice on all aspects of beauty therapy, including specialised spa treatments and cutting edge beauty therapy skills. Graduates from this course emerge confident and knowledgable about the beauty industry, with plenty of real-world salon experience.

Career Opportunities

Successful graduates from the Diploma of Beauty Therapy course have many attractive career options. Possibilities include: Owning, operating or managing a beauty salon; working at a day spa or health retreat; working internationally as a beauty therapist; working as a sales representative or area manager; and working in product development training.

Course Duration and Study Options

Full time: 12 months (2 days per week 9-5pm)
Part time: 18 months (1 day per week 9-5pm or 2 nights per week 6-9pm)

Students break for the scheduled public school holidays.

There are no general entry requirements for this qualification, and you may enrol in this course at any time and begin studying shortly after enrolment.

Course Units, Electives and Specialisations

This beauty qualification consists of twenty-five (25) units of competency. These units have been selected in consultation with industry and in accordance with the Training Packaging Rules of this qualification.

Special Interest Subjects

Note that all units can be purchased individually as special interest subjects. However, some units may require the completion of prerequisites.

Dermaviduals – Where Science Meets Beauty

Diploma students gain their practical experience using Demaviduals, a customised dermatological skin care solution that has been designed to optimally maintain the natural skin barrier and prevent the premature ageing process that is free of emulsifiers, preservatives, fragrances, mineral oils, silicones, dyes and amines. Students also graduate with a certificate in Corneotherapy.
